Success Stories

Stony Creek Suicide Prevention Walk American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Help raise money for the third annual Rochester-Shelby Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk at Stony Creek Metropark. All proceeds from the walk go toward suicide prevention education and outreach for students, military and family and survivors.

Last year, we raised more than $50,000 and had wonderful community sponsors and more than 600 participants. Thank you, Carson's and Bon-Ton for this opportunity to help break the stigma!

Pamoja International Cultural Exchange

Bon-Ton has been our saving “GRACE” by providing the “Community Day EVENT”.  PICEI has participated in the event since 2004.  Our organization has served the community without the use of tax dollars as result of the Bon-Ton Community event programs in so many occasions.

With these funds, PICEI provides regular free events for the communities we serve throughout the year.  Besides the regular free events provided, we help to raise funds for our members for unique situation, such as: helping with funds for transportation cost for the “Drew Cloggers” who shares the Irish culture through dance.

With the help of Bon-Ton, PICEI is able to bring cultural awareness to the general public by sharing the positive information of each culture.

Michigan Pug Rescue

The recent Community Day event aided our organization in paying for the medical care of 15 Pugs that were purchased at an auction from a puppy mill in Oklahoma.

The Pugs were living a life in unsanitary conditions, being bred every six months.  The Pugs ranged in age from 4 months to 6 years and all of the Pugs that we saved had medical conditions ranging from Heart murmurs requiring a consultation with a Cardiologist, Dermatological issues requiring treatment by a Dermatologist and special food prescribed, eye issues requiring prescription eye medications and appointment with the Ophthalmologist in addition to spay/neuter procedures, vaccines for Bordetella, DHLLP, fecal, blood and heart worm testing and growths removed and biopsied.  The cost of their medical care and the cost to get them at the auction exceeded $30,000.00.  By participating in the Community Day event we were able to raise part of the cost.
