Success Stories

Boy Scout Troop 912

Troop 912 is a Boy Led Troop. The adults guide the Scouts in the right direction, but are willing to let them occasionally experience failure. The adults are to provide opportunities for the boys to seek out instruction, reward those who participate and encourage those who do not. A motto for the adult leaders is, “Train them, trust them and let them lead.”

Community Days allows the scouts to earn money to use toward scouting events and equipment and learn financial responsibility. The scouts keep 100% of what they earn by selling Community Days booklets. The earnings are placed in their individual “Scout savings” accounts. They can then leverage that money to pay for campouts, summer camp, high adventure camps, yearly Scout dues and even some scouting equipment such as a new tent. It is an excellent way to help them cover the cost of scouting.

Michigan Pug Rescue

It is our goal to provide every Pug with a loving, safe and happy home.  Every Pug should be in an environment where they are loved and safe.

As a result of the involvement with the Bon-Ton Corporation and the sale of Community Day Books, the rescue has been able to rescue significantly more Pugs.  It is as a result of the  money raised from the sale of Community Books that  needed Veterinary costs associated with those Pugs that enter the rescue program can be seen by specialists and receive the needed medical care they need.
